The German car manufacturer BMW, which has designed such cars as the BMW M3 Coupe, the BMW m6 Convertible and the BMW 1 Series, is said to have made record profits in 2010. According to sources this increase in profit, which is said to carry on through 2011, has been helped along by steep sales growth in the countries of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Due to China, Hong Kong and Taiwan importing over 183,328 cars it is in accordance that they have helped push up BMW's sales in 2010. This increase in sales meant that BMW's net profit in 2010 soared to 3.23 billion euro’s from 210 million euro's in 2009. This means that BMW’s revenues were up by 19.3% to a record 30.48 billion euro’s.

As well as these increases for BMW, statistics have shown that 2011 is the year of the car. This is perhaps because statistics have shown a strong increase in new car sales from January this year onwards, looking to increase further throughout the remainder of the year.

Statistics from the Central Statistics Office have shown that around 13,470 new cars were licensed in February, this along with January means that from the first two months of this year, new car sales are running 22.2% ahead of the same period last year. This is a positive thing for Britain as it perhaps shows that many are not feeling the pinch of the ‘recession’ as much as it has been previously felt.

So ladies and gentlemen Why not drive up (excuse the pun) your new car collection and in turn increase sales of new (model) cars with the help of us here at Diecast Cars. You could be the proud owner of a Brand New BMW, an Audi Quarto or even a Ferrari, with us here at Diecast Cars the choice really is yours!

The stunning Land Rover Discovery is a mid-sized SUV, ideal for off-road conditions as well as normal roads. The first land rover discovery was introduced in 1989 with a further four generations of the vehicle.

The Land Rover Discovery Series one was based on the style of the previous Land Rovers but aimed to be a more upmarket model, at a lower price then enticing a larger market segment in which to compete with Japanese models that were available at the time.

The discovery was initially available in a three door version, with the five door becoming available the following year. The discovery's were available with 5 seats, with the additional option of having a further 2 seats in the boot space.

The discovery's interiors were designed by the Conran Design Group in London, the aim of the interiors was to position the vehicle as a 'lifestyle accessory' rather than just something that gets you from A to B. And a lifestyle accessory it became as the interiors won the British Design awards in 1989.

Before 1994 the discovery was available with either the 2.5 liter 200 Tdi engine or the 3.5 liter Rover V8 engine, however, as of 1994 the 200Tdi and 3.5 L V8 engines were replaced with the 2.5 L 300TDi 4-cylinder and 3.9 L Rover V8 engines. These changes brought about the new discovery model being named the 'Discovery 2'.

Following on from the '1994 discovery 2' came the II Series Discovery in 1998, the Discovery 3 in 2004, the LR3 and the present discovery model the LR4.

So, from 1989 to this day, the discovery has gone from strength to strength offering many new technological features as well as swish interiors as it develops.

It's definitely one of the best off-road vehicles around and you can get your very own here at Diecast Cars!

The Jaguar E-type otherwise known as the Jaguar XK-E is a British gem of a motor to say the least!

Jaguar is a British automobile manufacturer, who over the years, has produced some of the most sought after motors on the roads.

The jaguar E-type motors were manufactured and produced between 1961 and 1975. Its iconic good looks, classic style, high speed and competitive pricing established this motor as an icon of 1960s motoring. It's that iconic that in 2008 it was named the number one most beautiful car by the Daily Telegraphs list of 'top 100 most beautiful cars' as well as topping Sports Car International magazines 'top sports car of the 1960' list in 2004.

In March 1961 the Jaguar E-type Series 1 was introduced, although it was initially for export only. The domestic market launch of this beautiful motor came 4 months later in July 1961. This car really introduced something new into society with regards to motoring manufacturing.

The first 500 models that were produced had flat floors and external hood latches; this means that these cars are very rare and very valuable. Following on from that, this coupe offered dished flooring and twin hood latches in the inside of the car.

In 1964 the E-type's 3.8 liter engine was increased to a 4.2 liter engine, in turn vastly increasing the cars speed and performance as well as its public desire and demand. All E-Types featured independent coil spring rear suspension with torsion bar front ends, and four wheel disc brakes, in-board at the rear, all were power-assisted.

On from series one, jaguar produced a series two, series three and of course the E-type Roadster all of which were beautifully classic as well as stunningly unique. And Jaguar motors are still going strong to this day with their recent Jaguar XJ being named as Luxury Car of the Year 2010.

This year's hottest new coupe, the BMW 1-series M really is hot property, but is it as hot as Audi's new unveiling; the RS3? Hopefully the following article will help you in making your mind up!

The BMW 1-Series M Coupe offers a three liter, 340 brake horse power , twin turbo six cylinder motor which can top 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and markets for £39,990.

The RS3 is Audi's new model for 2011 and their final RS before a new model is launched next year. The RS3 offers the same turbocharged 2.5 liter five-pot that is found in other Audi models such as the TT and other RS models. This 2.5 liter engine equates to a more than ample 335 brake horse power and markets for around £39.300, only £ 90 cheaper than the BMW.

So, apart from appearance and brand, what is the difference really?

Well, as well as the initial engine the new BMW offers many gadgets and new features. It specializes in intoxicating lunacy as the twin low-inertia blowers provide response and torque whilst still allowing a 7000rpm red line. It also comes equipped with a no nonsense manual gearbox with a specially specific short-throw leaver, it is lightweight due to the amount of underneath aluminum and weighs only 1,500kg, meaning that its kick will be slick, as slick as 0-62 in 4.9 seconds flat. There are also many other features and gadgets that come standard with the BMW 1-Series M, in fact there are far too many to mention in a short number of words.

The Audi RS3 is a beautiful motor and offers a good price, however, personally the BMW 1-Series M Coupe would win my votes over that the Audi RS3, but with a new model on its way for Audi, my advice would be to watch this space!

The Brawn GP formula one team was a buy-out of Honda racing formula one during the hard times of the recession where Ross Brawn took over the team, still continued using Honda engines, but named the team after himself. Its first and only racing season was in 2009 when it competed in the Formula One World Racing Championship, with both Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello representing and racing for the team.

On its debut, the season-opening 2009 Australian Grand Prix; the team stole pole position along with 2nd place in qualifying and went on to win first (Jenson Button) and second (Rubens Barrichello) in the race. Button went on to win six of the first seven races of the season and further went on to secure the team the title of constructors championship as well as winning the drivers title for himself. The team then further went on to win seven out of eight races, making them the only team to acquire a 100% success rate in one season alone.

Due to the team's success in clinching the constructor's championship and the driver's title, Mercedes took a 75.1% stake in Brawn GP for a staggering £110million, leaving Brawn with a 24.9% stake. And so Mercedes engines were now used and Brawn GP was short lived and became Mercedes GP.

In 2010 the team didn't quite achieve the astronomical success that they did the previous year; however, they did come a respectable fourth with Nico Rosberg and former world champion Michael Schumacher racing for the team.

Last season, in top spot was Red Bull; second place went to McLaren and third place to Ferrari with Mercedes missing out on being in the top three by 182 points. The team missed out last season, however, Brawn has promised next season to be bigger better and hopefully to be a winner!

If your an amid speed freak car fan, then you would have surely watched the film 'too fast, too furious' and so in turn you will know that the number one featured car in that film is of course the Subaru Impreza.

The Subaru Impreza was first manufactured back in 1993 as a compact car. The motor is one of the most famous for being, as they call it 'supped up' and 'pimped out' by its buyers. In lamens terms, most who brought a Subaru Impreza modified by adding engine and body work modifications.

The Subaru Impreza was introduced after the cancellation of the Subaru Leone/ Loyale. The aging EA series engine was replaced with the popular EJ series engine which is commonly found in the larger Subaru legacy.

It is stated that compared to vehicles in a similar size, class and style such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Suzuki SX4 and the Mazda Protege, only the Subaru Impreza has always offered AWD (all wheel drive), this was made standard by Subaru on all of their Impreza vehicles!

The first generation of Subaru Impreza models offered their customers either front- wheeled drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). The motor also offered a flat engine either in a 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0 liters, as well as the 2.0 turbocharged and inter-cooled engine.

The Impreza is now on its third generation and since the first model in 1993 many modifications have been added by Subaru itself however, the car seems to be less fast and furious now and more family friendly!

The third generation Impreza known as the Impreza WRX has appeared to have been dressed down in recent years making it more of a 'practical car' for 'normal roads'. The new base model Impreza is slightly longer in shape, wider and has a longer wheel base. The dashboard in the Impreza is much more open and is easy to configure. All of these factors make it more of a family friendly car.

So from a too fast, too furious bad boy's toy to a family friendly vehicle, the Subaru Impreza really has grown up!

http://www.diecaststars.com/news/?p=108

Perhaps not the best loved of cars during its Aston Martins Virage-era in the 1990s, but the Aston Marin V8 Vantage which was produced later in 2005 really was an exception. The vantage name was used by Aston Martin in the 1990s; however, it wasn't until its 2005 model that it was taken seriously as a credible, reliable and beautiful motor.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage is one of the most sleekest and agile motors in Aston Martins dictionary of cars. The motor has no slouch in the visual department as it is as sleek as they come, however, as well as this the car also sounds beautiful, you might find it a difficult task turning your CD player on and instead may just opt to listen to the beautiful purr of the engine. Beware; however, this motor's purr gets better as the revs increase, meaning that you could find yourself flirting with penalty points just to listen to your engine!

Granted it's not a Porsche and would not come close to matching a Porsche's speed on the roads. However, James Bond himself did own an Aston Martin, and let's face it, anything James Bond does, most men want to do at some point in their lifetime (usually in mid-life).

The V8 Vantage offers a 4.7 liter engine of which performs 0-100km/h (62mph) in 4.9 seconds with a potential maximum speed of 290 km/ph (180mph), which is more than just a bit impressive don’t you think? As well as offering speed and power the car is also engineered to pure, genius excellence. This excellence is most noticeable through the use of lightweight materials, superb weight distribution, efficient aerodynamics and a purr-fect engine!

This superb motor really is the epitome of cool, sleek style, offering its customers only the best of big boy's toys!

http://www.diecaststars.com/news/?p=100

I'm sure this heading comes as no surprise to any of us, after all we have watched VAT prices increase year after year as well as petrol prices increasing to extortionate amounts over the past few years.

Due to this increase in petrol prices (yet again) it has been reported that petrol stations will be upping the ante with their security amid fears of forecourt theft!

It is estimated that filling up your Audi , Aston Martin and even your low-cost fords will go up by 3.5p per liter, just thank yourself luck you're not filling up a Ferrari , and if you are then I am sorry but you may have quite a considerable hole starting to burn through your pocket!

Due to these extortionate price increases, Petrol stations are now to up their security and CCTV operations. Officials and petrol station owners believe that this increase is likely to cause anger with motorists and will therefore come with increased forecourt theft of motorists filling up and driving off.

As a result many petrol stations have already started beefing up their CCTV and alarm systems as well as increasing the strength of the padlocks on underground fuel tanks. As an additional measure, big giants such as BP, Texaco and Shell are working with credit agencies and are now following a tough new system in order to chase down those individuals who falsely claim that they have forgotten their cash or cards.

This forecourt theft fear comes after officials claimed that such incidents increased last time petrol prices were put up in price. The officials claimed that not only were individually fueling up and driving off but also that organized gangs were draining tankers for their fuel.

So there you have it, increased petrol prices comes hand in hand with increased forecourt theft, just what society needs don't you think!

http://www.diecaststars.com/news/?p=103

The classic car that is the Mustang was manufactured by the American car company Ford which was founded back in 1903 by Henry Ford.

Introduced in early April 1964 the 1965 Mustang really is a classic car of its time. The Mustang created, what was known to American culture in the 60s 'the pony car', this was a sports-like coupe car with a long hood and a short rear deck. Such cars as Gm's Chevrolet Camaro and Chrysler's Plymouth Barracuda followed Fords suite here and jumped on the bandwagon, or should I say jumped on the pony!

The first mustang generation car was, as the manufacturers and production team decided, was based heavily on familiar yet simple mechanisms, this was easily achieved as many of which were already in production for other Ford models.

The Mustang cars were created year after year in the first generation with little sales for the first few models. However, things started to look up with the 1969 and 1970 models. With these models of the Mustang, the motor adopted a larger body. This in turn made it more attractive to families, although some did class it as too large regardless of its big-block 429 cubic-inch V8 engine.

The Mustang continued throughout the 20th century and is now in its 5th generation (2005-present). The first model in the fifth-generation Mustang was manufactured at the Auto Alliance International plant in Flat Rock, Michigan as have all the other models in the fifth-generation.

The 2011 model, ford have stated, has a revised engine. The new V6 is smaller than previously at 3.7 liters. It has an aluminum block engine weighing 40 lb, which lighter than the outgoing version and the engine produces 305 horse power, impressive!

So there you have it, from the first generation right through to the fifth generation the Mustang really is a classic and is very much still going!
